The Politic Stance summarizes the public position we assumed before the society, the State, the entrepreneurial community, the communities, the partners and the contractors. The Political Stance expresses itself in a single statement: HOCOL shares the life of the contries where it operates .

The Politic Stance is also a public commitment before the Colombian society in order to bring together our interest and those of our stakeholders.

Our Politic Stance expresses our interests and attitudes and allows us to present what we do, why we do it, the way we do things and the reasons for us to stay in the country. The Politic Stance also allows the people and the organizations to know the way we relate with them, what we look for, our approach to resolve conflicts, and the way we want to be seen. Thus, they know in advance how to act before us and the expectations that can arise from that relationship.

By assuming the Politic Stance, the Company´s actions and policies, among them the social responsibility, are oriented towards the goal of building a nation. This means that for HOCOL social responsibility is a way for the whole company to be and act.

We Recognize that:

•  The Nation, lawfully represented by the State, is our client. Our first responsibility is the effective discovery and development of hydrocarbons (oil and gas) that will provide both reserves and strategic information, be it social, environmental, or subsurface, to the Nation.

•  Hydrocarbons are public strategic resources of Society. We promote their prudent management for the benefit of all.

Thus, we are Resolved to:

•  Be part of Colombian Society and, as such, accept all of the constitutional rights and duties borne by every citizen.

•  Be part of the Nation, sharing in long term relationships that will generate wealth and opportunities for all, in an ethical and sustainable manner and within the framework of the constitution. We look forward to growing together with Society, participating in the strengthening of public institutions and the development of the Nation and its people.

•  Share the country's traditions and customs and expect to enjoy a long term, mutually interdependent relationship with Society.

•  Communicate openly as to who we are, what we do, and how we act. Our processes are open to scrutiny and audit by the public.

•  Share the Life of Colombia. We will always work toward building a common future in an environmental in which human dignity and the rights of others are at the forefront.
